@StephenCurry30 Christmas Carol Contest

On the 30th of every month, Stephen Curry (who wears #30 for the NBA’s Golden State Warriors) runs a contest through his Twitter account, @StephenCurry30. Curry uses the contests as a fun way to engage with his fans and gives away prizes including autographed pictures, authentic team gear and more.

With the holidays approaching, Curry put a seasonal twist on Nov. 30 contest. He asked fans to record and post videos of themselves singing Christmas carols. Whomever submitted the funniest video would win a personal Skype chat with the NBA star.

Shortly after posting the contest details and rules, the first video came in. It was a sign of things to come — from groups…

These fans probably won’t have record companies breaking down their doors.

But it quickly became apparent  that Curry has some dedicated fans who are willing to set aside their embarrassment about their singing “skills” for the chance to spend some virtual one-on-one time with him.

As the clock ticked closer to the 8 p.m. eastern deadline, Curry continued to RT some of his favorites.

With more than two dozen videos to sift through, it wasn’t an easy task — to both listen again or to choose a winner.

In the end, a version of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas” stood apart from the rest.

It may have hurt some eardrums, but November’s #SC30 contest provided plenty of laughs.
